Shining Light Program

We are proud to introduce the Shining Light program in honour of Maggie Clay Thorne, a devoted friend and educator whose passion for literacy, advocacy, and student success touched generations of learners. With over 35 years of service in education, Maggie championed students who were most in need, those facing barriers, or searching for their voice. Her unwavering belief in the power of reading, writing, and nurturing a love of learning continued long after her retirement, as she mentored young educators and supported programs that uplifted youth. This initiative carries forward her legacy, ensuring that every child, regardless of their circumstances, has access to the tools, confidence, and encouragement they need to thrive. 

All funds will go directly to our Champion Programs, One-on-One Tutoring, and Homework Helper services for Kindergarten - Grade 12 students.
